with saniderm
- Leave Saniderm for 5-7 days (if your Saniderm peels off before the 5-7 day period, follow aftercare guidelines below.)
- When it is time to remove your Saniderm, use the hottest water you can comfortably use and Dial Gold antibacterial soap to gently peel it away.
- After removing Saniderm, clean your tattoo well with Dial Gold antibacterial soap and the hottest water you can comfortably use. Use your hands only to apply the soap in small circles, never use a wash cloth or towel to clean or dry.
- Once your tattoo is clean and has no soap residue remaining, rinse your tattoo off with cold water. Using cold water helps to shrink your pores so that dirt and bacteria are less likely to become trapped.
- After cleaning tattoo, let it air dry and apply a very thin layer of unscented, mild lotion to the entire area (My personal favorite is Aveeno Fragrance Free)
- Continue to clean 2-3 times a day and apply lotion whenever tattoo feels dry for about 2 weeks or until tattoo has finished peeling completely.
WITHOUT SANIDERM
- Clean your tattoo well with Dial Gold antibacterial soap and the hottest water you can comfortably use 2-3 times a day for at least 2 weeks. Use your hands only to apply the soap in small circles, never use a wash cloth or towel to clean or dry.
- Once your tattoo is clean and has no soap residue remaining, rinse your tattoo off with cold water. Using cold water helps to shrink your pores so that dirt and bacteria are less likely to become trapped.
- On the morning of the third day, begin applying lotion. After cleaning tattoo, let it air dry and apply a very thin layer of unscented, mild lotion to the entire area (my personal favorite is Aveeno Fragrance Free.) Using lotion or ointment during the first two days can prevent can clog your pores, trap dirt and bacteria, and make it harder for your tattoo to breathe.
- Continue to clean twice a day and apply lotion whenever tattoo feels dry for about 2 weeks or until tattoo has finished peeling completely.
